Woops. Sorry, I see what it say at the top now. I read that in the morning, so I must have been half-asleep and in a hurry to get ready for work.

I miss space shows too. I wish there were more of them.

It says at the top..."I have to have watched the show regularly and it had to premiere between the years 2000 – 2009."

I was frustrated w/ BSG but it was good in a general sense. It was ground breaking as well. I REALLY like Journeyman. That's why it's on my list. Andromeda is a guilty pleasure. I liked it. It was a ship w/ aliens in space. That goes a long way with me.

I'm guessing Carl is right about you only including shows that started after 2000, because Stargate: SG-1 took place mostly in the 2000s but is missing from all lists.

I don't watch Doctor Who, but I agree with the others in your top five. I loved The 4400 too and wish they had gotten the chance to wrap up their story line, even if it took TV movies like Alien Nation did. I really liked Journeyman too, but with a short, single season, it could also go in the Cancelled Before Having a Chance to Shine list.

I'm surprised you ranked Lost & BSG so high. I thought those shows frustrated you. BSG frustrated me too, but it was still in my top 10 list because it was hard to deny the quality of the early seasons. However, I still wasn't crazy about that last half season, the DNA "mixability" of humans & Cylons *always* bothered me, the show was a little bit *too* gloomy, and I think the show as a whole is a little over-rated sometimes.

I would put Andromeda in the flop/turd category. I know it survived fives years, and I didn't watch it enough to understand it. But, any time I did try to give it a chance for a few minutes, it was always nothing but sparks, explosions, ship-shaking, bad make-up, and annoyingly gaudy costumes. It just seemed like a very loud show.

I agree with your flop/turd list except for Moonlight. I think it was pretty good, far too brief, and had potential to be so much better if given the chance. CBS did good earning my attention that one year with Jericho, Moonlight, and Kid Nation, but then they cancelled all of them. Now, I'm back to watching Survivor only. But, it's poetic justice that the very year after they cancelled Moonlight, the vampire craze kicked it, and the show that replaced Moonlight only made it for 3 or 4 episodes. Way to go, CBS!

As for the Cancelled Before Having a Chance to Shine list, I only saw four of those. With them having two season each, one could argue that Dollhouse & Sarah Connor did have their chance to shine. In fact, I'd say Sarah Connor already did shine occasionally, apparently not quite enough. And, Dollhouse didn't get good until Whedon knew it was cancelled and kicked it up five notches. Even then, I just don't think the concept of the show really connected with people. Even some of the obsessed Whedon devotees didn't seem totally onboard with it.

I knew I was going to get some crap for putting Enterprise on there. It still holds a special place in my heart. Not EVERY episode was a steaming pile. The Borg episode, the Orion ep, Mirror Universe. There were some decent ones.

SHAME on you Cat for putting Heroes on your TOP FLOPS & TURDS list!! SHAME!!! There were plenty of good times shared with the crew from Heroes! It may not be stellar now- but hardly a turd!! You coulda left a slot open for "Now and Again" (the only bionic action demonstrated was exercising, and swinging on a rope.)
Our old favorite "Earth: Final Conflict" limped into the last decade with only one redeeming factor- it predicted the flexible OLED screen- but then, again everything on that show was limp..
Which leads us to Roddenberry's "Andromeda"? It had real potential, but how it made it for FIVE YEARS?!? Seriously- I don't get that.. I don't care how hottie the ship and her adopted android were.
Now that I see your list- I'll give you a break, because I assume you are only including series that BEGAN after 2000, because, technically the last decade includes 1999- but the sheer blasphemy of not including Farscape in FAVES could only imply this..
So I'll leave you alone..
Shame!!

(Oh, and "Flash Gordon" shoulda been #1..)
For reals!!

Enterprise? Really? I would have been less embarrassed being caught watching midget porn than watching Enterprise. Bad acting, lame stories and ripping off all the ST lore that hasn't happened yet in the timeline and that stupid stupid intro song.

And IMHO BSG trancends all genres as the best TV series of ALL TIME. Stargate Universe would make my top 10. Surface was a great actionneer Sci-Fi show it was sad that it didn't catch on.
