So… Sookie is a faelien

Posted by fancyfembot On August - 24 - 2010

On the last episode, Sookie discovers that she is a fairy, of the fae or sometimes called an alien. Fairy blood is highly delectable; so delectable in fact that they were made extinct by vampires. This means that Sookie’s cousin Hadley’s son is also a fairy boy. I wonder if Claudine and the other fairies are corporeal? If they are, I foresee another fairy genocide.

I wonder will Sookie be able to fly. This also explains her love of skimpy clothing. Think: Tinkerbell.

I’m back in school

Posted by fancyfembot On August - 15 - 2010

If you’ve noticed my blogging and podcasting a bit less this year, it’s because I’ve been in school. Yes, I went to college right out of high school like everyone else. I majored in Music and Video Business with a strong emphasis on video production. I’m not doing that. I’ve never gotten a job doing that. I don’t enjoy that field anymore nor do I think I ever have.

Currently, I’m in the process of changing careers. I have a bit of momentum going and as I get more serious about classes, the fun stuff suffers. I’ve stopped podcasting and blogging before but that never seems to work. I always come back because it’s something I really enjoy. So I’ll still be around but you’ll see less of me. Whenever I get a free moment, I’ll post as much as I can. I may blog about news that everyone has been over for weeks but if it’s the best that I can do, so be it.

Thank you for reading and listening.

On an awesome note, I have a two week break before the fall semester begins. I missed Predators and Kick Ass in the theaters. I will try not to make that mistake with The Expendables and Scott Pilgrim. The other two films I’m really looking forward to is Harry Potter and of course Tron. I may even be brave and see them opening day.

Summer Sci-Fi for 2010

Posted by fancyfembot On May - 25 - 2010

Here’s what I’m watching this summer. It doesn’t seem like a lot really. In fact it seems like slim pickings. Don’t forget that Doctor Who isn’t considered a summer show but I’ll be watching it as well. I’m on the fence with Burn Notice because I got a little bored with it. The Gates is new, it has vampires and it’s a maybe. I don’t watch Futurama with any regularity. I’d like to though.

Just how many shows *do* I watch?

Posted by fancyfembot On November - 6 - 2009

I love television. I may even watch too much TV. I say bollocks to all of that. I watch what I want to see and am sometimes “forced” to watch some things just to have a discussion about it on my podcast, Sci-Fi Party Line. I mostly watch science fiction but sometimes, some shows are just so good that I watch them even if they aren’t sci-fi.

Geek-in-chief

Posted by fancyfembot On February - 5 - 2009

How could you NOT like this guy?

This man likes Star Trek. I can end this post right now and that should be enough.

Obama. Black man running for President of the United States. Majorly awesome but meh.

Obama. Human who loves the internet, tech, sci-fi, comic books.

Internet.

The campaign is the thing that sold me on Obama. During the campaign, his website was not stale and useless. He even had his own branded social network. I found it useful for finding others that were excited about his campaign. His campaign didn’t hesitate to use Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. Obama’s YouTube and Flickr account were invaluable for visually keeping up with this historic journey. It promoted a sense of transparency and excitement for his campaign. I loved when the mobile site was first released so that I could keep up with everything via my BlackBerry. The most exciting moment for me is when Obama revealed Joe Biden as is Vice-President via text message! (Yes, I kept and captured the text message from my BlackBerry!)

Tech.

The fight for Obama to keep his BlackBerry is hilarious. Anyone that uses a smart phone to organize their and communicate with friends and loved ones know how such convenience is hard to give up. He is an example to the country to get their act together and communicate like 21st century people should.

Obama will be the first President to have a Chief Technology Officer. Can’t ever say Obama didn’t create at least one tech job.

I wonder if I can become a lobbyist for the flying car?

Science Fiction.

Who runs around flashing the Vulcan hand-sign for live long and prosper and told his wife that her belt buckle was studded with Star Trek-powering dilithium crystals? Our new commander-in-cheif, that’s who!

Comic Books.

He only read Spiderman and Conan the Barbarian comic books as a kid but I’ll give him credit for it anyway. I’m not big on comic books so just an admission of him having read any comic books in his youth is enough for me.
